Content Creation
We all know the importance of using keywords in our articles on our websites. Using the right keywords will help to bring in traffic. But did you know that the amount of times you use a keyword in an article could affect its ranking with different search engines? If you want to bring traffic to your site, here are three tips for proper keyword density.
Tip number 1. Knowing your keyword density. The first thing that you have to do is figure out how densely you are using your keywords. This is a very simple task. You simply take the number of times that you use a certain keyword and divide it by the total number of words. To find these word counts, you can cut and paste your post into most word processing programs, and use the word count tool. You can also use the search and replace function to find out how many times you use a certain keyword.
Tip number 2. How dense is dense enough? Now that you know how to find your density, you have to know how dense your article should be. This is a point that is often debated. If your article is too dense, it will actually drop in search engine rankings. This means that you can not just post an article that repeats the same keyword over and over again. Most people believe that one to two percent density is a good number to shoot for. This means that you should use your keyword approximately one time, for every hundred words.
Tip number 3. You need to use supporting keywords. If you want to use the term, NBA basketball, the rest of the content has to be in line with your search term. Use players, teams, and terms like dribble, shoot, and defense. If you want to have keyword density, your entire article has to point towards your key phrases.
If you want to be creative and increase web traffic to your website, there are a number of interesting things you can do. You may have to spend money, but there again you might not have to. This is why I wanted to share my knowledge with you and give you a helping hand that you will find very productive.
So, what did I do to increase web traffic to my site? Well, besides writing good content, I used SEO, something that you should take the time to learn. Otherwise, you can try these:
• provide original content for free
• provide content that is different from anywhere else
• provide content that has information that no one else provides in one place
• provide quality written content
• provide useful and informative content
• add in a bit of humor
• use the first person as if you were talking to your friend
• show solid facts
• help readers solve their problems
• keep your writing fresh
• add new content every week at the minimum
• write tight and appropriate titles or headlines
• keep up to date with changing things about your topic and share them with your readers
• to provide more information faster, hire writers to do more articles
• outsource for writing versus hiring employees
• provide a glossary of terms
• provide links to good sites for further information or services related to your topic
• use link building to draw in more readers
• provide an rss feed to keep your readers informed of the latest article postings
• recommend your url to major search engine databases
• do not use content generating software
• avoid rewriting other articles found on the net
• do detailed research before writing content
• improve your search engine rankings
• advertise yourself across the net and by word of mouth
• provide a subscription, free preferably, with a forum for discussions about the topic
• have an advertising page for companies providing services or products related to the topic
• avoid putting advertising on your content pages
• use limited, but appropriate graphics with calming colors – green, etc.
• do not make your graphics too busy
• affiliate yourself to book stores online and promote their topic related books to earn some money
If you want to increase web traffic for your site, then follow these steps very carefully. Just remember that solid facts and good writing play as big a part as SEO, so ensure that you use proper grammar and spelling at all times!
Many online businesses today worry so much about SEO articles and online marketing, that they forget about their content. This can be disastrous for a website. The best online marketing might bring in a steady flow of traffic, but if you don’t have good articles, no one is going to come back to your site. Here are a few tips to help you with your content creation.
You can use a keyword tool to help you find out what is hot right now. The Google trend tool and other trending tools can help you to find what people are searching for. If you have a general site that touches on many different topics, this could be a great tool for you. If you have a small niche site, these top trends might not be touching on your sites.
Luckily, you can customize these keyword tools to your subject. If you have a site about apples, you can find out if people are searching for ‘red apples,’ or ‘apple picking,’ or ‘apple cider.’ If you know what people are searching for, your content creation can be geared towards those keywords. This way you can write SEO optimized articles that they will be interesting to your visitors. Trends on the internet change every hour, so you need to be on top of your game if you want to take advantage of these quick hit opportunities.
Another way to make sure that your content creation goes well is to write evergreen articles. These articles are called evergreen, because they never go stale. This means, that instead of writing about the 2008 election, you write about elections in general. Instead of tackling the 2010 Superbowl, you write about the history of a certain team. Writing articles that will always be pertinent is one way to make sure that your site will always get some traffic.
If you have a website then you have probably written SEO articles to help bring people into your site. Most people will use these articles as content so that search engines will have an easier time finding their websites. But another good way to build traffic is by building links. But how to you make people link to your site? One effective way is by writing SEO press releases.
Let us start off by talking about what a press release is, and what it does. When you create this piece of writing, you are writing a keyword article for your website. The different between this and your normal article, is that you refrain from opinion here. You want to concentrate on the facts. When your website started, what it does, and most importantly, what new is going on. A press release is a way of informing, not selling, people about your site.
The goal here is to make your SEO press releases interesting enough so other bloggers and website owners will take the information in them, and write their own article. A successful press release could create hundreds of unique articles, all of which will be pointing directly back to your site.
Here are a few tips to write effective SEO press releases.
A catchy headline. You want to write a headline that will catch the reader’s attention. You have to remember though, that clever is not always best here. Your title has to be informative, and capture the essence of the article, but at the same time it has to sound interesting enough to read.
Write like a journalist. If you cannot remove yourself from your company or you find it to be too time consuming, taking away precious time from what you do best, you should think of hiring someone to write your press releases.
At Business Web Coach, we have hired plenty of writers to offer press releases to our clients. CLICK HERE to view the prices for our packages, as well as individual services including article/blog content and SEO press releases.
Getting your web site listed at the top of the major search engines’ listings can sometimes seem like a full-time job. Many web developers spend more time promoting their web site than they do building it in the first place, or even handling their own product or service. But, by creating a SEO checklist, you can make easier work of building your web site while still making sure that you have hit all the important points that will get your site listed at the top:
1. Validate your HTML! This should be at the top of your SEO checklist and means that you need to run all of your pages through an HTML and CSS Validation tool. There are many of these online that will evaluate your website for free, making sure that there are no problems with your code. This is vitally important, otherwise search engines may abort crawling your site if they find too many errors.
2. Use “alt” tags. The use of “alt” tags was originally meant for people who had slow connections and chose to surf the web without the use of graphics. Now, however, they are used so that the search engines can read the graphics and evaluate them, especially when they are used as navigation tools. Without “alt” tags, a search engine crawler may also abort crawling your site.
3. Keep your content fresh. If you don’t update your website on a daily or at least weekly basis, then at least go in and change the date. There are ways you can do this automatically so that both the search engines and your visitors will think that all of the information is new. However, the most effective method is to create new and up-to-date content for your site.
Finally, don’t forget to submit your website to all of the search engines, and not just the big two. Your SEO checklist should contain a list of search engines, perhaps as long several hundred that you regularly submit to.
Back in the day when web designers built their website by hand, it was very easy to make a mistake in the coding. However, now web designers are lucky to have the many tools that they have that no longer makes HTML and CSS validation such an issue that it used to be.
If you don’t know what HTML and CSS validation is, you have probably noticed it when it didn’t take place. If you have been to a website that looks odd, where items are falling off the side of the page, strange coding appears, or there are missing graphics, that is probably because no one took the time to validate their code.
When you build a website, you need to use HTML and CSS validation for the following reasons:
1. Not everyone uses Internet Explorer. Some people are still using old versions of Netscape and AOL, while others are using Firefox or Safari. You need to build your website so that it appears properly on all of these browsers.
2. Not everyone is on a PC! Some people are viewing your website from an Apple, others from their phone or even their television. Your website needs to appear properly there, too.
3. You may find that you need your website to be ADA-compliant. This means that readers for the visually-impaired will be reading the text. So, if you are going to utilize a lot of graphics, there needs to be “alt” tags in place so that the reader can “read” them, too.
By using a quality HTML or CSS validation program, many of which are found online for free, you can make sure that your website is fully accessible to everyone, no matter what kind of computer they are using, or even whether they can actually see the screen or not.
If you wanted to know how many pages of your site were indexed by Google, the answer was simple, you just search site:www.example.com and the number of pages that Google shows was also the number of pages that Google had in its index. Google Webmaster Tools simplifies this process by providing an easy to use dashboard that shows the number of pages from a site that are included in Google's index. Google Webmaster Tools also conveniently displays information about how many inbound links a website has.
Creating more pages on a consistent basis will provide more strength and relevance for your website. Unfortunately, creating content is a very time-consuming process, that's why you should have us create content for you.
