At the same time, they most likely would not be able to read old posts that are as relevant today as they were when you wrote them. 2. It optimizes each page of your website. So, your index page has a rank of 2. But, what about the rest of your blog's pages? Search engines rank sites per page. When you deep link, you leverage your own blog's equity and increase the popularity of each page.

Of course, don't go crazy on your link-building just because you can. Use it in moderation. If you can't find a page that is relevant to a keyword, don't force it.
