Why Linking Farms Are Bad
Why are linking farms bad and why should you avoid them? Picture the nearest public dump, and you have a clear image of a linking farm.
Put simply, all the links from such farms are trash. The websites they point to may be good ones but the link from the farms will never bring these sites any value or benefit them in any way. As a matter of fact, when people find these websites after casually browsing online, they do not bother clicking on the links. So, aside from not bringing in any page rank value, these farms do not deliver traffic either.
Linking farms exist because many people do not have a clear understanding of search engine optimization. They hear that links increase a site's value so they try to get as many links as they can. This is how they end up with links from bad neighborhoods or websites that are not in good standing with search engines, most especially Google.
Link farms are bad mmmmmmkay. They are created for no other reason than to house multiple links, exploiting the link popularity algorithm of search engines. They do not serve any purpose other than giving and getting links from everyone who joins. Getting a link in this manner is a problem because readers and spiders alike consider these farms as spam. So, if you value your website, do not use a link farm. Avoid them because they will only make you lose trust points from readers and Google. In some instances, in fact, links from a link farm may even get your site banned by search engines!
In a nutshell, linking farms are dangerous and are a complete waste of time, so forget about using them. Instead, focus on legitimate marketing methods. They don't work overnight but they do work.
